We introduce to you our Storm Captains of season 20/21!

BAILEY VIVIAN
Bailey’s first ever Storm season was in 2013/14 as a bottom age U12. His first coach was Thomas Boxer followed by James Murphy, and throughout his Storm career has had numerous coaches, some of which are still coaching Storm. Bailey is in his 8th and final year with Storm and is a tremendous role model to those coming up through the program. Last year was his first role in a coaching capacity, assisting Rowan Sims with the U14 boys at a local level. He has also helped out with CADP, having also participated himself in this program every term from U12 until recently. Bailey during his playing years to date has been involved with the U13 Development Squad and the U14 Australian Junior Country Cup with SA Country (Gold Medal match!), as well as competing in district from U14 – U18. Earlier this year he travelled to America to play basketball with SA Country, and has been training at the St Francis de Sales College basketball academy for the last 3 years. Not only does Bailey take the court himself, but he has achieved great things on the referee circuit, having this year been invited to referee in the Australian Junior Basketball Cup in Albury. He referees at a district level weekly and at the local SDBA competition. He is nearly a qualified referee coach! This season Bailey is really excited to play in his final year as a junior Storm player, and says " I am lucky enough to have a well experienced coach in Chris Clark. The U18’s group this year will really compete with the other teams and I am very excited to see how we go! I am very grateful and thankful to be one of the Storm Captains this year. My role as a Storm Captain will be help the young ones develop their skills and knowledge of the game, but also give them someone to look up to and set a good example to everyone. This season i will try and get around to every team to get to know the players and coaches and am very excited to see everyone play!"

CHARLOTTE WALSH
Charlotte is a 2nd year U18’s player, and started playing for Storm when she was 9 years old, in her top year of U12s. Her first coach was Paul Watson who we all still see around at local level during the week! Last summer she pulled on the coaching shoes for the first time and coached a rookie girls team on Friday nights, and all the players also saw her friendly face when she was helping in the canteen at local throughout the week. This season Charlotte is looking forward to encouraging all other storm teams as well as her own, and she will be a wonderful familiar face for the young ones to have on the sidelines at their carnivals.

ALISSA WILLSMORE
Alissa also first started playing Storm when she was 9 years old, and her first Storm coach was Renee Beeching. Now there’s a face we are all familiar with! Alissa has really enjoyed playing for Storm over the years as she has met so many nice people and had some great coaches. Not only does Alissa play for Storm, she also referees and has umpired for Storm for 2 years. She too has had an introduction to coaching at a local level and says it has been “lots of fun getting to meet unique little souls throughout my coaching experience”. This season as a Storm captain she is looking forward to meeting new people and making new connections with the Storm community.

Congratulations to our three Storm Captains, we are sure you will all see them throughout the season supporting courtside, or with a whistle in hand as well as on the court themselves!
